Settings
To open the settings, press the settings icon in the top menu.
Inside the settings popup, you can open different tabs to customize many aspects of the Townbuilder.
Preload Models (Currently Disabled)
This setting decides whether or not models will be preloaded. Turning this on will increase lag and load times but save network traffic.
Show Tips
Some tools offer you tips when you use them via an overlay on the bottom right of the screen. If you don't want to see any tips, disable this setting. If you disabled the tips too early and want them back, you can re-enable them here.
Camera Weight
The higher the weight of the camera, the longer it will take to stop spinning when you rotate it.
Default Snapping
Choose a default snapping for the translation and rotation tools.
Hotkeys
You can change the hotkeys by clicking on them and then pressing the key combination you would like to use. Clicking the refresh icon will restore the hotkey to its default combination.
On Mac, shortcuts that use Ctrl on Windows use ⌘ Command instead (the Control key also works). Shift is shown as ⇧ . The File and Edit menus, settings list, and context menus show the correct keys for your platform.
If you want to learn what hotkey does what action, please check out the settings popup in the Townbuilder for a list of all available hotkeys.
Menu Size
Sets the size for the right side menu.
Transparent Menus
If activated, Townbuilder menus have a slightly transparent background. If disabled, they will be opaque grey.
Day-Night Cycle
If activated, the scenery in the background will be animated and change over time.
We offer two scaling factors: Imperial and Metric.
If you choose imperial, the grid in Townbuilder represents 1", and each floor will be 2" tall when printed. REQUIRED for OpenLOCK compatibility.
If you choose metric, the grid in Townbuilder represents 25mm, and each floor will be 50mm tall.
Either scale works great with 28/32mm miniatures.
