Room Wizard

The Room Wizard enables you to generate rooms, dungeons, and multi-story buildings. It automatically generates floors, walls, and corners and offers multiple options for connecting rooms with each other.

" It is magic; who knows how it works?"

Quick Start

Start the Room Wizard by clicking on its icon in the toolbar. Then drag on the build plate to generate a room as shown below.

To confirm a room's creation, click anywhere outside of it or press Enter or click on done on the bottom right. If you drag out another room and have one of its walls sit in the same space as the previously generated room, it will connect to all rooms it shares walls with.

Presets

In the right side menu, you can see a lot of buttons with different icons on them. These are the presets. If you click on any of them, that preset is then loaded, and this part of the menu collapses to the very top. Each preset is already completely configured for you, but, of course, you can still customize its behavior further (see configuration below)

If you want to change to a different preset, you can expand the Presets & Search menu by clicking its header at the very top of the right-side menu.

If the number of presets becomes overwhelming, you can filter which presets are displayed by typing in the search bar at the top or by expanding the filter menu next to the search bar and selecting the themes you want to filter for.

Room Dimensions

After choosing your preset, click and drag on the build plate. A preview of your room will be created and will follow your mouse around until you release the left mouse button. After releasing the mouse button, you can still adjust the preview by clicking and dragging on the orange arrows on either side of the preview.

Doors and Windows

Once you are happy with the size of your room, you can place doors and windows onto it by using the buttons in the bottom bar.

Icon Name Description IA Doors Add 25mm / 1" wide doors. A Doors Add 50mm / 2" wide doors. IA Windows Add 50mm / 2" wide windows. A Windows Add 50mm / 2" wide windows .

Once you've clicked one of the buttons, a transparent red window or door will follow your mouse around. It will snap to the room's walls once you hover over them and turn green if you can place the door or window there. Clicking on the wall will then leave a green window or door there.

If you want to remove any windows or doors you've previously placed, click on them again while any door or window button is pressed, and they should disappear again.

Accepting

You can then accept and consequently generate your room in three ways:

done

button in the bottom bar

Editing Rooms

After accepting a room, you can still edit it to a certain extent. Click on any completed room to select it. You can then move it around by using W A S D , rotate it with Q and E , and mirror it with M . You can also delete the room by pressing DEL .

Configuration

Using the right-side menu, you can change the kind of room generated and how it will connect to other rooms you've created.

Materials

The very first thing you can change is which material will be used for your room's walls, floors, and corners. To change the material, click on the large button displaying your preset's icon. This will open a dropdown showing all materials available in your account.

You can also prevent the Room Wizard from placing any walls, floors, or corners by clicking the visibility icon next to Walls, Floors, or Corners.

Height Configuration

Icon Name Description Half Walls and corners will be 25mm / 1" tall. Full Walls and corners will be 50mm / 2" tall.

Special Configuration

Icon Name Description Raised Floors will be raised up to 25mm / 1" level. Gridded Floors will show grid lines.

Style Configuration

Icon Name Description Thick Walls, floors, and corners will feature thick 7mm / 1/4" templates. Thin Walls, floors, and corners will feature thin 3mm / 3/32" templates. OpenLOCK Walls, floors, and corners will feature thick 7mm / 1/4" OpenLOCK templates.

Merging Configuration

Merging is concerned with combining two rooms if they have overlapping parts. For the most part, these settings should not be relevant to you as a user unless you want to create a very specific behavior.

Icon Name Description Connect Rooms will be connected via doors close to the smaller wall's center. Neighbor Rooms will share a closed wall without any doors (apart from the ones placed by the user). Expand Rooms will be expanded with no separating walls.

Next to these three connect modes, you can define which models should be kept in case of an overlap between rooms, the old or the new ones. Old refers to the already accepted rooms, while new refers to the one that triggered the merging.

Save Configuration

Finally, you can decide to save your configuration as a custom preset. This preset will be saved in your account and will appear in the Preset & Search section under custom configurations. You can enter a name for your custom preset to identify it again easily!

Banning

Underneath the Configuration section, you'll find the Banning section. Here you can exclude and include certain models from being used in your room. Any transparent models are banned; all normal-looking ones will be used.

You can change a model's status by clicking on it. Note that the Room Wizard will randomly select any of the non-banned models for its creation process.

Banned models (transparent) will not be used when creating rooms.
