Battlefield Builder - Getting Started
This chapter will give you a good overview of how you can get started with the Battlefield Builder. We guide you through the process of creating a simple ruin and show you how you can share it with the world!
Account You can open Battlefield Builder in the browser without an account and place models from every asset pack. Create a free account to save, share, and download buildings after the packs they use are unlocked.

Step 1: Enter Battlefield Builder
To begin building, head over to Battlefield Builder. There you will be greeted by an empty build plate and a lot of buttons. For now, you can ignore most of them and focus on the model menu on the right side.
In the model menu, you can find all assets to use inside the Battlefield Builder.
Step 2: Create a basic layout
To load a model into the builder, click on the image of the model you want to use or drag it onto the empty build plate. If you click on any model, it will always spawn at the center of the build plate. If you drag it, the model will follow your mouse and will be placed where you drop it.
Once the model is loaded, you will see it highlighted in blue. This means it is selected. While a model is selected, you can move it around by pressing the WASD keys and rotate it by pressing Q or E .
You can now drag out any number of models and move them into position to create the basic shape of your building!
If you find creating a layout tedious and want to do basic stuff more quickly, check out the Ruins Tool.
Step 3: Add more floors
By pressing ⇧ W/S you can switch to higher and lower floors. Doing so allows you to build multi-floor ruins for a vertical play surface!
You can also switch between floors using the arrow buttons on the bottom right of the screen, or using the Hierarchy Menu
Step 4: Party and Share
Congratulations, you did it! You have created your very first building with Battlefield Builder! To celebrate this achievement, how about creating a link by clicking the share button and sending your building to your friends, your loved ones, and your estranged uncle that just added you on Instagram.
Your building may look a bit plain and empty, maybe even a bit chaotic with different materials for the ground and first floor. But don't you worry, we have solutions for all of that!
We recommend reading the Basic Controls and Tips chapter next!
